WELCOME TO TE KAUWHATA

Te Kauwhata is a small, rural North Waikato village with a population of around 2000. Set in picturesque rolling farmland and nestled on the edge of Lake Waikare, it is midway between Auckland and Hamilton - approximately 40 minutes’ drive either way.

Te Kauwhata is the service centre for a large rural area in the Waikato which includes Waikaretu, Onewhero, Maramarua, Meremere, Waerenga, Ohinewai, Rangiriri, Naike and Glen Murray. Its unique location offers easy access to west coast beaches such as Raglan, and the white sand east coast beaches of the Thames / Coromandel peninsula, less than an hour away.

Take a detour through a town you always pass but never stop to visit.
